It was COLD outside today and with all of the juicing, I was really craving something warm and sweet! I remember my grandmother always baking us home made sweets! Cookies, pie, cake, cobbler.... Cobbler! That's it! That is what I want!
This recipe is super simple and hit the spot!.
Ingredients:
1 cup of Hodgson Mill Whole Wheat Flour
1 cup of sugar
1 stick of butter
3/4 cup of milk
1 can of unsweetned cherries
Directions
Melt the butter in an 8x8 pyrex dish (I just put the butter in the pyrex dish and microwaved until it had melted, or you could melt the butter 1st and pour it into an aluminum pan)
Mix the flour and sugar together.
Pour the milk in and stir.
Pour the batter over the butter. Do not stir or mix together.
Spoon the cherries on top. Do not mix.
Bake on 350 for 50 minutes. Remove and let cool for about 10 minutes. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
My husband was super feliz to be able to eat something so delicious and normal! It was a welcomed site to his eyes and taste buds after being subjected to my "green drinks!"
Now I'm in baking mode and looking forward to making Christmas cookies and other yummy holiday treats.
