La Cascada

It's Throwback Thursday! Don't forget to leave your link below in comments if you participated.

I remember our 1st trip to Mexico like it was yesterday.  Hubby's familia took us to "la cascada" (a waterfall close to where he grew up).
I decided to get out our video of that trip.  I wanted to share some of it with you all. The video was taken ten years ago!   Long story short, I'm very technically challenged.  I had to record the video from my computer onto my cell then upload it to YouTube, so it is not perfect.  Once hubby is home from his trip, maybe he can help me figure out a better way to share other parts of our trip one day.

This clip is of when we got to one part of the water fall.  El Rancho is in a very hot and dry area, so this was a delight to see. (although during this trip it was a little cool during the days, but still VERY dry.)  The water was cold and I could have spent all day there.
There were some areas that were quite steep!  I thought I was going to slide down the side of the mountain a couple of times.
We ended up going inside a cave.  This is when I learned the word "agachate."  I hope I'm spelling that right.  If you listen closely, you can hear someone saying, "Tara! Tara! Cuidado! Agachate!!"  (Tara, Tara, careful! duck/crouch down....  so I wouldn't hit my head.)

Sorry about the quality of the video.  Hopefully hubby can work his magic and I can post more of my first trip to Mexico one day.

Happy Thursday!

    1. Thanks for participating amiga. I enjoyed seeing the many forms of taking a bath in El Salvador. There have been plenty of summers when my son is outside playing in a wade pool and I've been tempted to take out some shampoo and soap!

  3. The video was great! You look so happy! It's been YEARS since I've last visited Mexico. El Rancho is where mis abuelitos live. Ahh yes.. the open country.. chickens roaming around with their little ones following behind... the donkey tied up to the tree, enjoying the shade... the turkey fluffing his tail feathers as he wanders by..

    1. Day,
Yep! You described el rancho exactly as how I remember it. Thanks for commenting.
I just stopped by your blog and etsy page. You are so talented. I didn't know you were in Georgia! What a small world. I work 5-10 minutes from Lawrenceville.

  7. Thanks amiga. Actually his English has always been pretty good. It's some words or phrases that he gets mixed up mostly. He works with a bunch of gringos so he is constantly perfecting his English. Some phrases/words that aren't that common, usually trip him up.

  9. The video was awesome, Tara! The waterfall and the caves are so beautiful. I loved a chance to see part of Mexico that I haven't seen (okay, so I really haven't seen much at all--just over the boarder from San Diego) and I loved how all of the kids seemed to try to watch out for you!

You are so cute! (i giggled when reading your comment above) I'm thankful to have seen the "real" Mexico although I'm not opposed to seeing the touristy side. (hint to hubby)
