Today is Throwback Thursday. If you participated, please leave a link to your post in the comments section. Oh, and I made a button if anyone wants to add it to their post (or future post). Grab the code on the left of my page.
This Throwback Thursday post is dedicated to two of our "smaller and more finicky" family members.
Fluffy Girl and Sofi
Fluffy on Left and Sofi on Right |
They are best friends. We adopted them over 9 years ago. I remember telling hubby I wanted a kitten. He was like, "ok, whatever you want to do..."
I adopted Fluffy Girl from a sweet lady who had found her under a bush.
Fluffy was a little jealous of Sofi when I brought her home but it didn't take long for them to become best friends.
Fluffy Girl is the sweetest cat ever! She is great at catching bugs that may sneak in the house. She absolutely loves our son and will spend hours laying in bed with him at night. She treats him like one of her own. She will lick his hair as if he was one of her kittens! She never gets mad when our son picks her up and carries her around the house like a sack of potatoes.
Sofi is a little more finicky! She doesn't want to be bothered by anyone! She doesn't want to be petted by anyone except me. I love taking naps with her in the afternoon. She'll hop up in my lap and we doze off together. She is my 2nd alarm clock. She wakes me up every morning like clock work. Meowing and meowing until I drag my self out of bed, empty their daily treat of "Fancy Feast" into the food dish, only to walk away looking at me with a - Ha Ha! You fell for it again? I changed my mind, not hungry now- kind of look!
Don't make yourself dizzy looking at this picture! This was how my apartment bathroom was decorated back in the day too! LOL Double Throwback.... Anyways, Sofi loved watching our fish "Poncho" when she was a kitten. I'm sure Poncho loved his lovely "I'm stuck in bathroom and feel dizzy habitat!
These cats are living the life of luxury! Being waited on hand and foot and receiving tons of love. They are part of the family. My son is very protective of them. Always making sure the doors are shut good so there are no "escapees!"
It's hard to believe they have been with us for over 9 years!
We love them dearly!
the bathroom picture is great - you teased the cat with a fish bowl?
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill. Yes, come to think of it.... that was sort of cruel of us to tease our cat with a fish bowl.
DeleteWell, I like the cat story, but I think Poncho steals the post here. Between the dizzying walls, and the fact that you had him basically living on top of his grave (though not all fish get flushed when they die), not to mention the cat having a lovely carpeted place to sit and stalk him, that poor fish must have had some serious stress, lol!
ReplyDeleteMy Throwback Thursday post is done, too: http://www.borderlinesavage.com/2012/04/todays-throwback-thursday-idea-came-to-me-the-other-night-while-el-esposo-and-i-were-watching-top-shot-the-contestants-had-a.html
Susan,
DeleteYou crack me up! When I started posting pics to this post and came across the zig zag bathroom and poncho, I realized that should have been the Throwback Thursday post. But, I had already written this post....so.... ya know. Poncho did steal the show or did the bathroom? I think it was pretty close. My vote is for the bathroom!
Thanks for participating!
If I believe in reincarnation, I want to come back in life as your spoiled and pampered cat. Or mine. My kitty Sam lived for 19.5 years. My nephew's kitty is 2 years old and may not survive as long because of her penchant for crawling into spaces like the clothes dryer and opening cabinet drawers under sinks.
ReplyDeleteSounds like both of our cats are spoiled. I'm sure Sam was a loved part of the family! 19.5 years is a long time to spend with a beloved animal.
DeleteCats can fit into the craziest places, right? Guess it is good they have that whole "9 lives" thing going for them.
I love cast but, am allergic to them(I get itchy all over, my eyes swell up, and my nose starts runnignlike a faucet!!). Yours are too cute!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Stephanie! My mom is a little allergic too and my cats LOVE her! They always rub against her and when she leaves she is sneezing, swollen eyes, etc... I feel so bad for her.
DeleteAwwww, how sweet! Inlove the trick Sofi plays on you in the mornings, sooooo finicky. Sadly, we wont ever be cat owners because hubs is like Stephanie, sneezing sneezing , ithcy, red eya when around them. So dog people we are, by default ;)
ReplyDeleteDog people are great too! We do not have a dog due to a crazy neighbor! He lives on our street and likes to poison the animals. Long story short, we suspect he shot our dog a couple of years ago. We just can't go through something like that again.
DeleteSofi is quite a character! So so finicky!
What adorable kitties you have! They really are part of your family!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jackie! They definitely are part of the family.
DeleteYour cats are beautiful. We had two kitties for five years that we had to give away after we discovered our son was allergic to them. It was tough. We still remember their antics. BTW -- love the bathroom wallpaper. Rocking to the 80s!
ReplyDeleteEzzy,
DeleteSorry to hear about your kitties. I'm sure you gave them to a good home though....
I realize the bathroom probably should have been my Throwback post! It really did make ya somewhat dizzy. Definitely could not have a couple of drinks then enter the bathroom or you could wind up SPINNING! LOL
