Today is Throwback Thursday. If you participated, please leave your link below in comments.
We are on a family vacation this week. I was contemplating on what to write about when today I experienced a blast from the past!
Does anyone remember Plastic Balloons?
It comes with liquid plastic (I guess) and a blow stick.
You put some of the plastic on the tip of the stick...
Then blow
Pull plastic off stick and pinch the ends together.
Now you have a big plastic balloon to play with, until it pops.... or you just can't stand it and pop it your self.
I remember playing with these when I was a little girl. What a cool memory to relive! Does anyone else remember these plastic balloons/bubbles?
I remember these...and I remember my mom saying, "no you can't have those, they are gross and messy". :)
ReplyDeleteHeather,
DeleteThanks for commenting. Yes, they are definitely messy! They are cool though. I remember playing with them a lot. My mom probably bought them so we'd play with them and stay out of her hair. haha!
Totally! My sisters and I used to love making bubbles with these. I remember the stuff having a super strong odor back in the day. Like fumes. *lol* Does it still? I hope you're relishing every minute at the beach (and that you're reading). Abrazos, Amiga!
ReplyDeleteYes, Ezzy... the strong odor is still present.
DeleteWe had a great time at the beach. I've been playing catch up since getting back in town. I read, but not as much as I wanted to. I'm still working on my book. I thought my trip would be more about relaxation (which it was) but we were to busy going to the beach, then the pool, always going going going, not enough sitting and relaxing. LOL
HELL YEAH I REMEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are AWESOME!!!!
DeleteI can't believe you found time to blog while on vacation. What a trouper. Plastic balloons where a lot of fun. Here's my throwback:http://rubireyes-lifeinthearmpit.blogspot.com/2012/06/taras-throwback-thursday.html Enjoy the rest of your vacation!
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating Jenn. Yes, you know I'm a dedicated blogger when I take time out of my vacation to blog. LOL
DeleteI loved the pics of Juanito and your post.
I'm so sad lol i don't remember these at all but i so want to try them, they look like fun!!
ReplyDeleteFritp,
DeleteApparently you can get them at the dollar store and dollar general, so look for them. They are fun!
Thanks for commenting.
I totally remember these things!!! I LOVED the smell so much! But I remember them being in colors and when I recently bought them for my girls, they were also transparent. My husband started freaking out over the smell, saying that they were toxic and I had to convince my girls to throw them away. :(
ReplyDeleteJackie,
DeleteYour husband has a good point. They probably are toxic! The fumes are strong. I hope we do not grow a third arm. I'll keep you posted, haha! ;)
My kids may have asked for those back when you are remembering them. I probably would not want them to play with it since I think it would ruin the carpet and furniture. They had to be sticky. Are they still sold?
ReplyDeleteBill,
DeleteYep, they are still sold. You made a good point and I think this is why my parents brought them on vacation...for the kids to use at the beach and in a condo. That way if carpet got ruined it wasn't theirs. LOL No, we were very careful.
I loved playing with this! I didn't know they still sell them. Such great memories...
ReplyDeleteI found them to be messy & a waste of time. I blew up 5 blue plastic balloons. After I pinched the ends from taking it off thr stick they popped as soon as they hit the carpet.
